About the Author
Thomas Rumreich is a survivor of sexual abuse. The abuse took place at a Minnesota Catholic college when he was a freshman in 1960. For years he’s been haunted by the events that led him to write this novel. Writing this was a challenge because it necessitated revisiting events that severely sidetracked his early psychological development. Emotions arose that kept him awake nights, and he struggled to not let those emotions color the scenes portrayed in this novel.
Rumreich earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota in 1973. He also holds a master’s degree in psychology. For sixteen years, he served as the forensic odontologist for the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is trial certified as an expert witness in forensic dentistry. He completed his training in death investigation at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. This expertise was used throughout the novel.
Thomas lives with his wife, Ruth, in Scandia, Minnesota. Profits will be donated to Survivor’s Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP).
